Tennessee (abbreviated TN) is a U.S. state located in the southeastern portion of the country. It borders New Berkshire to the east, Newcumberland to the north, Arcansas and Missouri to the west, and Yazoo to the south. Geographically and culturally, Tennessee is divided into two sections, East Tennessee and West Tennessee. The capital city is Nashville, which also serves as the states largest city and largest metropolitan area. Other major metropolitan areas include Memphis, Chattanooga, and Clarksville.
