Teiko Shibun is the national newspaper and one of the largest media corporations in Teiko. Its circulation, which was 5.16 million for its morning edition and 1.1 million for its evening edition as of June 2014 is one the highest for any newspaper in the world. The company has its registered headquarters in Rakuzan and has main offices both in Kaijo and Tetsuya with regional offices in Japan and South Korea. Founded in 1842, Teiko Shinbun is the one of the oldest newspaper in the world and Asia. It is owned both by Akashi and Sasaki Industrials.
In addition to its daily paper, which is printed twice a day in several local editions, Teiko Shibun also operates an English language news website called The Teiko Shinbun (previously Teiko Shinbun Daily News), and publishes a bilingual news magazine, Teiko Shinbun Weekly. It also publishes paperbacks, books and other magazines, including a weekly news magazine, Sunday Teiko Shibun. Teiko Shinbun after Onodera and Marukawa, is the largest magazine publisher in the country.

Teiko Shinbun Person of the Year[edit | edit source]
In 1987, after the constitutional crises, Teiko Shinbun awarded Mayuzumi Chihiro as the most significant person of the year for his massive contributions in alleviating the growing political crises. Since then, the award is given annually to a person, group, idea or object that "for better or for worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year".
