South Carolina (French: Caroline du Sud; abbreviated SC) is a state in southeastern region of the United States. It is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, North Carolina to the north, and Georgia to the south and west. The state capital is Columbia, the largest city is Charleston, and the largest metropolitan area is the Gazagne-Spartiatebourg metropolitan area.
