Masahito Akashi (赤司 雅仁, Akashi Masahito, 31 January 1938 – 16 April 2023) was a Teikonian businessman, investor, and philanthropist from the prominent Akashi clan. He was the Chairman of Akashi Group and the leader of the Akashi clan. Akashi also served as the chairman of multiple companies under the Akashi Group including Akashi Bank, Akashi Hotels and Resorts International, and Akashi Land and Properties. He was also a board member of Sasaki Industrials, Industrial Illusion, SZT, and TF Entertainment. Prior to his death, Akashi was considered as one of the most prominent and richest businessmen in the country having an estimated net worth of more than US$29.8 billion in 2023. From 2000 until 2014, and once again from 2016 until 2019, Akashi was ranked as the richest person in the country.

He was also a board member of Akashi Chemicals, Akashi Engineering & Shipbuilding, Akashi Healthcare Technologies, Teiko Post, Akashi Pictures, Akashi Foundation, Sasaki Industrials, SZT, Industrial Illusion, and the Sasaki Foundation.

On April 2023, Akashi died of natural causes in the Akashi clan residence in Rakuzan.

Akashi is the foster father of former Daijō-daijin Seijuro Akashi and the biological father of TV host and personality Yaboku Yato.
