Manitoba (abbreviated MA) is a U.S. state in the northern United States. It is bordered to the west by Assiniboia, to the north and west by Saskatchewan, to the south by Missisagania, and to the east by Keewatin. The capital city is Winnipeg which is also the largest city in the state. Manitoba is nicknamed The Buffalo State because of the large abundance of Bison which both previously and currently live in the state. Bison are often nicknamed as American Buffalo and for many years were extinct in Manitoba because of overhunting.
