The Kitaseki region (北関地方, Kitaseki-chihō) is a geographical area of Seijima Island, the largest island of Nakama. The region includes the national capital and largest city Greater Serika Area and encompasses nine prefectures: Shimazaki, Mizawa, Iwaki, Sumida, Serika, Kitayama, Nagaoka, Akatsuka, and Asakura. Within its boundaries, it consist mostly of Kitahara Plains which lays from Mizawa Prefecture to western Akatsuka Prefecture while most other part of this region is mountainous and hilly area. As for 1 July 2017 population estimate, there are 42,276,087 people residing in this region which consist of 2/5 of Nakama population.
