The Independent agencies of the Teikonian government are those agencies under the Government of Teiko that exists and function outside of the ministries of Teiko although they may be called into meeting with the Daijō-kan or the Royal Council as the need arises. More specifically, the term may be also used to describe agencies that, while constitutionally part of the executive branch, are independent of the control of the chancellor, usually because the chancellor's power to dismiss the agency head or a member is limited.
Most of these agencies were constitutionally mandated and were created in the Constitution of Teiko, although a bill being lobbied at congress seeks to amend the provisions for the powers and nature of the independent agencies. Apart from its constitutional requirements the agencies are also governed by statute laws and regulations.
