The governor of Delaware is the viceregal representative of the Monarch of the United States in the U.S. state of Delaware. In an analogous way that the President-General of the United States performs ceremonies and duties on the federal level, the Governor of Delaware performs similar duties on the state level. The governor is appointed by the Monarch on advice and consent of the premier of Delaware and serves in office for an unfixed period of time—known as serving At His Majesty's pleasure—though five years is the general standard of office term. The current governor is former judge Gregory M. Sleet, who succeeded TBD on March 29, 2021.
