The Flag of Sonora, most commonly known as the The Sunstate Flag. The Sunstate Flag flag officially became the flag of the Federal Republic of Sonora during the talks leading to the San Diego Compromise.
Symbolism[edit | edit source]
The flag depicts 8 stars identifying the 8 states that make up Sonora. The blue rectangle identifies the Pacific Oceansurrounding the state. The two rectangles of red and orange color identify the picturesque landscape of Sonora. The central rectangle of white color identifies hope and a future of prosperity
