The Daijō-daijin (太政大臣, Chancellor of the Realm) is the head of the government of the Federal Kingdom of Teiko. The office is appointed by the The Prince upon the nomination of Royal Council, and the office-holder must retain the confidence of the Royal Council to remain in office.
The Teikonian word Daijō-daijin does not have an official English translation used for any official and diplomatic business but it is sometimes translated as either "Chancellor of the Realm" or "Grand Minister of State". The title was adopted in the 1870 Constitution of Teiko as the official name for the "head of the Government". It is the official title of the head of government in both Teikonian and English. Daijō-daijin has no plural form.
The current Daijō-daijin is Koyomi Araragi on 29 November 2021.

Official office and residence[edit | edit source]
The official office and residence of the Daijō-daijin is called the Korokan (鴻臚館). The original Korokan was located in Kaijo, the former capital of Teiko and it was used as official residence from 1872 until 1990. During the construction of a new capital, the new building was designed in the same style as the original although a few alterations were made and the former Korokan was turned into a heritage site. The building's design features traditional Teikonian architecture and many elements of the old Korokan was replicated in the new Korokan. It is located adjacent to the center of Dazaifu, the location of many of the government ministry offices.
