Concordia International Airport (Baliscano: Aeroporto Internacional de Concordia), commonly known as Castejón Airport, Castejón-Concordia Airport, and Castejón International Airport (IATA: CNX, ICAO: SHCO), is one of the two airports that serves the surrounding eponymous conurbation, and is the primary base of Balisca's major domestic airline, Baliscana (Terminal 1), as well as LEAP! and Southern Express. It is located in the Charxes borough in northwestern Castejón. It co-shares runway facilities with the military airport of the Charxes Air Base, primarily runways three and four.
Prior to it's the airport's construction Castejón was served by Alunzaro Airport, which was built in 1953 to serve the city of Jatiel. Concordia has been the primary international airport serving the conurbation since 1978, handling almost all of its domestic flights. Concordia underwent significant renovation between 2012 and 2014: a dedicated International Terminal, current Terminal 2, was opened at Concordia in conjunction with the completion of a fourth runway, allowing increased long-haul flights during night-time hours. The communal government is currently encouraging the use of Concordia for premium business routes and the use of the smaller Diodoro Marqués Airport for domestic and regional leisure routes and by low-cost carriers.
Concordia handled 20,278,809 passengers in 2019; by passenger throughput, it was the 8th busiest airport in Latin America and the 38th-busiest in the AIN. It is able to handle 25 million passengers per year, following renovations that concluded in 2018.
