History |
The Basic Law: Political Parties, Organization and Representation (Baliscano: Ley Fundamental: Partidos Políticos, Organización y Representación), is a Basic Law of Balisca which established the confederation as a non-partisan democracy, established restrictions on political parties and political lobbying and reformed the Baliscan electoral process.
The Amendment dissolved all active political parties within Balisca, regardless of their ideology and size, and prohibited the future establishment of political parties. Since the passage of the amendment via referendum, delegate candidates for election to the Confederal Congress have stood in a personal capacity.
In place of political parties, platforms such as the Cosmopolitan Collective, Ecological Action and Reformist Bloc (Balisca) have emerged.
