Óscar Pablo Moreno Ibañez (born 16 November 1948), more commonly Óscar Moreno Jr., is a Formosan politician currently serving as Chair of the Formosan Senate. He is the senatorial lead for the United Workers Party of Formosa (UNITRA).
Moreno is a member of the Fernandino community and is the son of Óscar Moreno Sr., a Formosan political activist involved in securing independence from Spain. He fled Formosa along with his mother and siblings in 1964 and lived most of his adult life in exile in Balisca, becoming highly influenced by libertarian socialism and other left-wing ideas. He returned to Formosa from 1995 and operated as a civil society activist, aligning with the fledgling Formosan Democratic Movement. He was beaten and imprisoned by FRELIFO forces during the Pencil Revolution, during which he put his name forward as a supporter of Isaias de la Cruz Mbembe. Upon being released, he took part in the transition to democracy and ran for a Senate seat under MODEFO's umbrella. He was among the lawmakers who left the party to found UNITRA in 2010.
Moreno is considered an elder statesman and a human rights advocate in Formosan politics as well as a prominent democratic socialist with libertarian leanings. He is generally considered one of the most trustworthy politicians in Formosa.
